Cruising Tahiti - Paradise Within Reach!

If you are looking for a new area for your club or group to cruise, where you can explore a different culture, yet still feel safe and secure – a Tahitian Islands cruise may be your answer.

In December 2003, Islands in the Sun Cruises & Tours, Inc. owners, Susan and Russ Rosenberry, sailed the Tahitian and Marquesas Islands aboard the beautiful Tahitian Princess. This 10-night cruise started and ended in Papeete, Tahiti. Getting to Papeete was surprisingly easy. The Los Angeles-Papeete flight is only 7 1/2 hours. Therefore, once you arrive in Tahiti your mood is already set to enjoy this island paradise. We highly recommend staying a night or two in Papeete prior to embarking on your cruise adventure.

The beauty and fragrance of flowers are everywhere. The Tahitian people are welcoming, and the gentle, warm breezes take all your cares away. In the Tahitian islands you’re never far from the sea – and the colors and clarity of the water are truly amazing. So many shades of blue, aquamarine, topaz …. even photographs do not tell the full story.

Several cruise lines sail in Tahiti year-round, and some offer a few special cruises each year. Susan and Russ found that the 600-passenger Tahitian Princess was an ideal size for exploring these South Pacific islands. The ship was small enough to not over-whelm some of the very small atolls that we visited, yet large enough to offer the many standard Princess Cruises amenities. Like her larger sisters, the Tahitian Princess of-fered several alternative dining options each evening, world-class entertainment and a luxurious spa and health center. Cruise activi-ties featured local folkloric shows and demonstrations of native arts and crafts in many ports. A few days post-cruise in Bora Bora or another island would offer your group the ultimate island adventure.

The various ports-of-call offered an exciting variety of shore excursion options including glass bottom boats, catamarans, submarines, snorkeling and scuba diving. And an abundance of land-based selections offered island tours, off-road jeep adventures, walking tours and hikes. Of course visits to galleries featuring local artisans, black pearl farms, vanilla plantations and other cultural and shopping venues abound.

The combination of a luxurious and intimate cruise ship, an inviting culture, climate and people, and a safe and accessible environment all add up to an ideal cruise-tour opportunity for your group.
