Testimonials:
I have taken groups to Alaska 5 times over the last 20 years. We have gone in June, July and August but never in May. I was hesitant to take a group in May because of the weather. I was wrong it was absolutely fabulous. The weather was cool but not cold and we didn’t have one drop of rain. The biggest surprise of the trip was that Mount McKinley was visible every single day. I have been there when we never saw her. We took a float plane ride and landed on a glacier where the McKinley climber base camp was located. It was one of those “I can’t believe I’m here” moments in my Ambassador Club travels.
Islands in the Sun did a tremendous job planning the trip and helping with the details. We have enjoyed doing business with Russ and Susan since they have become preferred tour operators for Heritage Clubs International.

Dear Russ and Susan,
I want to thank you very much for the recent trip I contracted with you to Alaska. I do approximately 30 trips a year, and have so for 14 years, so I am on the road a lot and have experienced just about everything. But, I wanted to take time and give you a personal "THANK YOU" for a really great trip. This was my 14th trip to Alaska with groups and I previously lived in Anchorage for 2 years. Going in late May and early June is really the best time to see Alaska, in my opinion. There is still snow on the higher mountains, the animals are more plentiful and the mosquitos are still thawing out. The weather is also great, just before the rainy season and just before the hot days of summer. To expand on the wildlife, when it's hot outside, they seek shelter just as we would seek shade in the heat. In summer they are harder to find and see. If my passengers spend the kind of money it takes for the Alaska Experience, I want them to experience it to the fullest. That time is late May and early June.
Your staff was very prompt in our requests prior to the trip and you and Susan were very good to work with during the entire trip. I have used all the ships that do Alaska and I really am pleased with Celebrity and its ships and itineraries. The key to doing the Alaska trip is to do the land and Inside Passage. Doing only the Inside Passage exposes one to the tourist spots and not the interior of Alaska. The last day in Vancouver allows us to unwind before being shuttled off to the airport.
Thanks again and book me again for 2011 in late May!
